Humanitarian and legal adviser


Simon Liu is a humanitarian and legal adviser with on-the-ground experience in conflict zones including Syria and Ukraine. A graduate of Sydney Law School, he is a trained lawyer and has advised on matters of privacy law and international law, working with UN agencies, NGOs, governments, and the private sector.

Simon is dedicated to bringing hope to communities around the world and making a difference in the lives of countless individuals. He founded Building Memorii, a humanitarian project which partners with local organisations to support the welfare of children during times of conflict and humanitarian crisis. He raised funds to support underfunded educational programs for children across Ukraine.

Simon has also lectured at the University of Sydney under the English and Writing discipline, bringing his interdisciplinary background in data analytics and international security.

He represented Australia for the 2024 UN Youth Leader Fund for a World without Nuclear Weapons program in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, focusing on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, and was featured on SBS News.
